Job brief
The Senior Accountant manages day-to-day accounting operations, ensures the accuracy of financial records, and leads monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. This role handles financial statement preparation, ensures full compliance with ZATCA tax regulations, coordinates audit activities, and supports budgeting and forecasting.
Responsibilities
· Financial Closing & Reporting: Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes; prepare accurate balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
· General Ledger Management: Post, review, and reconcile journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account balances.
· Taxation & Compliance: Prepare, review, and submit VAT and Withholding Tax (WHT) filings in compliance with ZATCA regulations.
· Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax advisors by preparing audit schedules, supporting documents, and reconciliations.
· Financial Planning & Analysis: Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial planning activities.
· Process Improvement: Assist in enhancing internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial reporting workflows.
Requirements and skills
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Experience: 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
· Certifications: Professional certification (SOCPA, CPA, or CMA) is highly preferred.
· Practical Background: Hands-on experience with closing cycles, general ledger management, financial statement compilation, and auditor liaison.
Skills:
· Technical Accounting: In-depth knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and ZATCA compliance standards (VAT/WHT).
· Software & Systems: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
· Languages: Business fluency in spoken and written English.
· Core Capabilities: Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
