Context

SYSTRAis looking for an experienced Lead Rolling Stock professional to join our team. The Lead Rolling Stock will lead the team in effectively delivering technical services for the installation, testing, and commissioning of rolling stock and depot equipment systems. This role ensures that project requirements are met within budget and in line with key performance indicators, while providing safe and fit-for-purpose vehicles and infrastructure.

Reporting to the Systems Manager, the Lead Rolling Stock will be responsible for developing and reviewing engineering, quality, and operational standards, as well as specifications, procedures, and instructions for electronic rolling stock systems and related equipment. These will be designed to ensure fitness for purpose and to support the safe, reliable, and cost-effective management of all assets.

Missions/Main Duties

• Oversee all rail systems, rail infrastructure and rolling stock testing & commissioning activities and monitor sub-contractors' testing, commissioning and handover work

• Review and comment on all testing & commissioning programs, procedures, reports, etc. in due consideration of operation and maintenance requirements

• Monitor all testing activities (Type Testing, Performance Testing, Routine Testing, Dynamic Testing and Final Testing) and identify issues and opportunities for improvements

• Ensure accuracy of the work produced by the designers, design & build contractors, etc. in terms of system integration, test and commissioning

• Review system integration management activities so that the system can be properly integrated in terms of equipment, data, etc.

• Coordinate and monitor rolling stock related interfaces and integration with other disciplines (Platform Screen Doors, Signaling, SCADA and Power Supply).

• Monitor (maintainer manages the process) and ensure the implementation of the preventive and corrective maintenance of the rolling stock and related features.

• Liaise with other disciplines and contractors to ensure proper integration and configuration of the system for all aspects of the project;

• Liaise with System Interface Managers of the contractors to plan and schedule integration tests and documentation and submission of result reports; and

• Identify, initiate, and implement corrective actions and process improvement methodologies in line with cost reduction and lean organization.

Profile/Skills

• University degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (Bachelor of Sciences minimum) or Business engineering (Bachelor of Sciences or equivalent minimum).

• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in metro system testing and commissioning with solid understanding of Systems Engineering Life Cycle.

• Knowledge of fundamental of rail engineering disciplines and systems.

• Possess strong commitment to the organization mission and is highly motivated to combine energy and expertise with other colleagues to achieve a common objective.

• Ability to deploy available processes, tools and time management methodologies that increase efficiency and productivity to fulfil objectives.

• Exceptional communication skills, fluent in report writing and group facilitation; presentation skills, and fluency in English spoken and written. Knowledge of Arabic language preferred.

• Analytical thinking, problem solving, business innovation, and customer service orientation.
