Job Description:
• Monitor and ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco, project, company HSE policies and applicable offshore safety standards.
• Conduct regular offshore worksite inspections and identify, assess and control hazards.
• Ensure compliance with PTW, JSA/JHA, LOTO, confined space, working at height, lifting and SIMOPS requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings and daily HSE briefings.
• Monitor PPE compliance, safe work practices and emergency preparedness.
• Report and investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain daily HSE records, inspection reports, observations and statistics.
• Exercise stop-work authority where unsafe conditions or activities are identified.
• Coordinate with the Offshore Supervisor, Project HSE team and Saudi Aramco representatives.
Qualifications:
• Saudi Aramco-approved/accepted Safety Officer – preferably with valid/current approval for the relevant project scope.
• Minimum 5 years relevant HSE/Safety experience, preferably in oil & gas/offshore construction or marine operations. Saudi Aramco's construction safety guidance specifies at least five years for field safety officers.
• Proven offshore experience in construction, maintenance, hook-up, marine or oil & gas projects.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent internationally recognized HSE qualification; OSHA/IOSH or equivalent certifications are advantageous. Saudi Aramco guidance recognizes formal safety training such as NEBOSH, OSHA and NSC.
• Good knowledge of Saudi Aramco HSE requirements, Life Saving Rules, PTW and safe work practices.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Valid offshore medical/fitness certificate and relevant offshore safety training, as applicable.
• Experience with incident investigation, risk assessment, emergency response and HSE inspections.
• Ability to work offshore on a rotational basis and under extended working hours.
