JOB PURPOSE:
The Fleet Operations Manager leads the group's land transport fleet and logistics execution, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of raw materials and finished products. The role manages fleet planning, maintenance, drivers, and third-party transporters, and leads the inbound and outbound logistics teams.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Fleet Strategy & Planning
• Plan fleet capacity and utilization to meet inbound and outbound transport demand.
• Define fleet policies, standards, and KPIs in line with Supply Chain strategy.
• Develop and manage the fleet operating and capital budget.
Fleet Operations & Maintenance
• Oversee daily fleet dispatch, routing, and delivery performance.
• Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, inspected, and compliant with licensing requirements.
• Control fuel, maintenance, and transport costs and drive efficiency improvements.
Third-Party Transport Governance
• Manage contracts and performance of third-party transport and logistics providers.
• Evaluate transporter rates, service quality, and compliance on a regular basis.
• Resolve delivery issues, claims, and service failures with transporters.
HSE & Team Leadership
• Enforce road safety, driver fitness, and HSE standards across the fleet.
• Lead and develop Land Logistics specialists and drivers.
• Report fleet performance, costs, and risks to VP Supply Chain.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 6–11 years of experience in fleet management or land logistics, including team leadership.
• SAP, fleet management and tracking systems, and MS Office.
