An engineering consultancy in Jeddah is hiring a civil and structural engineer for its design team, working on industrial, commercial and logistics buildings.
What you will do
• Analyze and design reinforced concrete and steel structures, including foundations, to the Saudi Building Code and international codes.
• Prepare structural calculation reports, design drawings, and the structural and civil parts of specifications and BOQs.
• Design civil site works: grading, roads, paving, storm water drainage and external works.
• Review geotechnical reports and set the foundation design parameters from them.
• Coordinate with the architectural and MEP teams, and answer authority comments on structural drawings.
• Review contractor submittals and shop drawings within the structural scope, and support the site team with technical queries.
What you need
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) accreditation, Engineer grade or above.
• 3 to 5 years of structural design experience, preferably with an engineering consultancy.
• Working knowledge of SBC 301 (loads), SBC 303 (soils and foundations), SBC 304 (concrete) and SBC 306 (steel), and of ACI 318, ASCE 7 and AISC 360.
• ETABS, SAFE, and SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro, plus AutoCAD. Revit or Tekla is a plus.
• Arabic and English, written and spoken.
Work terms
• Office-based in Jeddah, with site visits when needed.
