We are delighted to be supporting the Residential Aged Care teams across all our sites by offering up the chance to raafa's many amazing Carers to express their interest in becoming Medically Competent.
A vital part of the care we give our residents at each and every one of our sites, being Med Comp means supporting both the residents and other staff in delivering the best, person centred care that we can possibly deliver.
Becoming Med Comp is not something every carer does and this expression of interest does not guarantee you will become Med Comp. Our Med Comp carers are some of the best of the best, thorough and caring and everything we would want in someone looking after our own loved ones.
The Process Is Simple

From there, we will select the best possible candidates, in consultation with our leaders, to represent raafa as our next group of Med Comp Carers.
The training itself is one 3 hour theory session, followed by some shadowing of an RN working on shift. The amount of shadow shifts needed can differ from site to site and person to person.
Once your training is complete, you will become one of our selected Med Comp Carers and help provide the excellent care that raafa is known for. You will be entitled to pick up any Med Comp carer shifts that become available.

This will allow us to make a shortlist of those we would consider offering the chance to upskill themselves. These Med Comp slots are limited at each site, with only a certain number of Carers being able to make the leap.
