Product Configuration & Master Data Management Engineer (CPQ & SAP VC)
Talents First is recruiting on behalf of its client, a major international industrial group expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia through a strategic industrial partnership.
We are seeking an experienced Product Configuration & Master Data Management Engineer to support the industrialisation of configurable products and the integration of engineering, commercial and manufacturing processes through SAP and connected enterprise systems.
Reporting to the Head of Process and Systems, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimising product configuration models in SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC) and CPQ, while ensuring the accuracy and consistency of material master data across integrated platforms.
This role combines technical configuration expertise, industrial process understanding and cross-functional collaboration, with a direct contribution to product data integrity, configuration performance and manufacturing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• SAP Variant Configuration: Develop, maintain and optimise SAP VC models, translating engineering specifications and industrial processes into configuration rules, characteristics, classes and object dependencies.
• CPQ Product Configuration: Maintain and validate CPQ product models, ensuring consistency between commercial configuration requirements and industrial production processes.
• Master Data Management: Manage the creation, maintenance and extension of SAP Material Master Data (MM), ensuring accuracy, integrity and alignment with industrialisation requirements.
• Systems Integration: Coordinate with product configuration developers and PLM specialists to maintain consistent product data across CPQ, SAP ERP, PLM and MES environments, including connected systems such as Windchill, Configit and TDC.
• Testing & Validation: Test and validate configuration changes across SAP environments, support user acceptance testing (UAT) and troubleshoot configuration issues affecting industrialisation and production.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve configuration performance, data quality, automation and the reliability of system interfaces.
• Purchasing Integration: Collaborate with procurement teams to define and automate the transfer of relevant product characteristics and pricing information from variant configuration into supplier purchase orders.
• Documentation & Support: Prepare technical documentation, provide training on configuration models and master data processes, and support internal stakeholders in resolving configuration-related challenges.
Candidate Profile / Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with SAP Variant Configuration (LO-VC) and SAP Material Management (MM).
• Strong knowledge of product configuration principles, material master data governance and industrialisation processes.
• Ability to read, interpret and understand mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and translate technical specifications into configuration logic.
• Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, preferably Windchill, and experience working with Bills of Materials (BOM) and system data interfaces.
• Knowledge of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) and Production Planning (PP), particularly sales order configuration and order BOM processes, would be an advantage.
• Scripting and automation capabilities, including Excel VBA, Power Platform or the ability to read ABAP, would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with particular attention to data accuracy, documentation and process consistency.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing requirements and collaborate effectively with international, multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent English is required. Knowledge of German or Spanish would be an advantage.
